At Blessed Joy Midwifery you are encouraged to not be fearful of past birthing experiences, but to examine them, process as necessary and desired, to build a care plan for your current pregnancy and birth. We love to hear your birth stories and walk the path of healing and growth with you when needed, and celebrate all the victories.
We believe in VBAC births and love to empower women to consider them! We believe in the importance of health and nutrition and encourage this to be the cornerstone of your prenatal care. We utilize diet, nutrition, movement, childbirth education, affirmations, and knowledge, as we go along this journey. ​

You are choosing a place that knows how to help you not only in the physical, but in the spiritual, emotional, and mental as well. As birth is a mixture of all of these things, we feel that you deserve well rounded care that does not start and end with what’s going on in your body, but also with what goes on in your mind and heart.
We feel that everyone should be fully educated to the extent that they desire so we provide education on newborn procedures, testing, childbirth education, postpartum care, and breastfeeding.

​We have two birthing suites available at our birthing center, both with beautiful tubs for water births! If you prefer a home birth, we offer that option as well. We want your partner to be as involved in your birthing experience as you want him to be! He is more than welcome to catch your baby!
We always delay cord clamping after the baby is born, and provide the golden hour for family bonding and breastfeeding.
We love to witness families experience what comes naturally in the first few moments after their precious baby is born!

All in all, Blessed Joy Midwifery is a place that allows you to go at your own pace during your labor and treats you as an individual. After our clients finish their last six-week postpartum visit, we talk about planning a 'just because visit’! So often the Midwife client relationships last for a lifetime!

I loved my experience with Sheila and Kacey and Ashlynn, all are so sweet and friendly and made me feel like an individual and friend rather than at the OB office where they rush you in and out and don’t care to get to know you. Although I ended up having to have my baby at Baylor due to fever and decreased baby movement, I felt very supported by Sheila the whole time and she stayed in contact during and after the birth and resumed our postpartum care once we were discharged from hospital. I loved that she takes the time to chat and thoroughly explains all options so I could make informed decisions about everything during the pregnancy, and also love that she is a strong Christian and asks about spiritual wellbeing as well!
